இயேசுவின் உருமாற்றம் 

1456 ஆம் ஆண்டு கிறிஸ்தவர்களுக்கும் துருக்கியர்களுக்கும் இடையே பெல்கிரேட் என்னும் இடத்தில் கடுமையான போர் மூண்டது. இந்தப் போரில் ஹுன்யாடி ஜோன்ஸ்  என்பவர் கிறிஸ்தவர்களின் சார்பாக நின்று போர்தொடுத்தார். போரின் முடிவில் கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் துருக்கியர்களை வெற்றிகொண்டார்கள். அவர்கள் இத்தகையதொரு வெற்றியை இறைவனின் துணையால்தான் பெற்றார்கள் என்பதை நன்கு உணர்ந்தார். இதை அறிந்த அப்போதைய திருத்தந்தை மூன்றாம் கலிஸ்துஸ் என்பவர் ஆண்டவரின் உருமாற்றப் பெருவிழாவை கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் துருக்கியர்களை வெற்றிகொண்ட அந்த ஆகஸ்ட் 6 ஆம் நாளில் கொண்டாடப் பணித்தார். அன்றிலிருந்து இன்றுவரை ஆண்டவரின் உருமாற்றப் பெருவிழா ஆகஸ்ட் 06 ஆம் தேதி கொண்டாடப்பட்டு வருகின்றது.

Feast of The Transfiguration of the Lord.

One day Jesus took three of his disciples namely Peter, John and James to mount Tabor. On the mount Jesus changed into a divine being with eternal light shining from him. Moses and Elias were also appeared there and were talking with Jesus. They were talking about the suffering Jesus has to undergo in Jerusalem, which would happen soon. But Peter was so happy that he told Jesus that they should remain there and he would construct three tents for Jesus, Moses and Elias, without realizing what he was telling. At the same time a cloud descended from above and covered Jesus, Moses and Elias. An eternal sound was heard from inside the cloud to the effect that Jesus is the loving son of the God and everyone must hear and adhere what He says. Then the cloud disappeared and only Jesus was there. This incident is also a proof for the divine nature of Jesus along with human nature.

This incident of the reappearance of Moses and Elias may be taken as a proof that there is a place to live in after death, for those persons, who hear and adhere to the words of Jesus Christ.
